That They Might Have Joy

Reminder: God WANTS us to be happy!

When we live righteously, we are rewarded; as we see throughout the scriptures that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him. Some may have a tendency to look for the trials in life, trying to find the lessons that Heavenly Father wants us to learn. It is important to learn from everything we go through, but that mindset can be harmful if we start to feel like we aren’t learning and growing unless we’re struggling and suffering. If we are living righteously, Heavenly Father WILL bless us, and He wants us to enjoy those blessings! In fact, He wants us to do the opposite of looking for trials: Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.

So instead of looking for the trial in your blessings, or even focusing on the blessings in your trials, just look for the bright side in everything, and you will find that your growth will accelerate naturally as your burdens are lifted by the Lord.

  1. The best thing about your posts is how well you tie scripture into your thoughts. Each of these things is like a little talk! It makes the scriptures come alive for me, seeing them as support for doctrinal points like this. Thank you!!
