Who IS that Angel on Your Shoulder?

D&C 8:2 Yea, behold, I will atell you in your mind and in your bheart, by the cHoly Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.

Have you ever had that experience where some gut instinct was telling you NOT to do something, but logic ruled the instinct invalid, so you did it anyway?  And then something went horribly wrong?  Haven’t we all!  And always it is followed with that immortal adage “Why didn’t I follow my mind?”  or “Why didn’t I trust my gut?”  God, as any loving parent and especially as a loving Heavenly parent, is constantly concerned for our welfare and guides us through the feelings of our heart and our thoughts – whether or not we recognise it as such.

The Gift of the Holy Ghost is the precious gift that Heavenly Father gives His children, after they’re baptized,  so that we can learn what His will is for us and recieve direction that will help us make our way through life. The trick, is learning HOW to follow it. It’s really difficult at first to tell the difference between arbitrary thoughts of our own, and distinct promptings from the Spirit. That scripture in the Doctrine and Covenants gives a simple recipe for recognizing the Holy Ghost: He will tell you in your mind AND in your heart.

Another question….have you ever done something selfless and kind for someone?  Did it feel just right, warm or any other positive adjective you can imagine?  Heavenly Father truly does communicate with us through His Spirit and it is truly manifest when we do choose the right and are filled with those feelings of warmth and love.  Everyone is entitled to experience the power of the Holy Ghost; be sure that you recognise and acknowledge it.

Galatians 5:22 But the afruit of the bSpirit is clove, djoy, epeace, flongsuffering, ggentleness, goodness, hfaith, 23 aMeekness, btemperance
